Weigh-In #6 + Hiatus Update

I'm still sick from the latest round of the infamous flu, so I'm not just not actively dieting - I'm eating ice cream. Unfortunately when I get sick my appetite completely disappears, partly because I can't taste a darn thing. Ice cream is familiar. I can imagine how it tastes. It also packs a heap of much-needed healing calories.

My low-calorie diet will restart when I'm feeling better.

However, this doesn't mean I haven't been weighing myself. And, out of the cat-felling combination of boredom and curiosity, I used a tape measure.

Here are my results:
If you can't see it, my body fat percentage is 26.81%. Color me confused. My bowflex scale says my body fat is hovering above 31%!

Is the scale incorrect, or is the calculator incorrect? Do I only need to shed 2 more percentages, or do I have a long way to go?  Am I at the lower end of the acceptable range, or toeing the line into obese territory?

I hereby consider my confidence "felled".

Out of laziness I've been avoiding scheduling an appointment to use the "BodPod" at the base gym, and mostly out of laziness I would like to continue doing so. It's supposed to be insanely accurate, but there's that humiliation factor I don't quite feel like facing.

I mean, let's face it. I'm overweight. (Possibly medically obese.) I jiggle. I don't like it. In general, society doesn't like it. When I can't accept my body, how can I expect others to?   :'(

At least the math equation on the previously linked page (this) is giving me some good news.

IF my body fat IS indeed 26.81%, for a decidedly and firmly HEALTHY body fat percentage of 24%, my goal weight is 155, which matches up with the lowest amount previous obsessive research recommends for my body type.

But while that is true, I'm only going to aim for 165. That's how much I weighed when I first met my husband and since that was enough to catch him, then there isn't any way I could justify not being happy with that number.   :D

Only 17 more pounds to go!
